Increasing age and reduced immune system function are well-recognised risk factors for developing shingles.1,2 Increasing evidence suggests that diebetes may also be associated with an increased risk of developing shingles.1,2 This Symposia will offer an immunologist and endocrinologist’s perspective on the risk of shingles in adult patients with diabetes and the potential complications which may arise.

The newly formed ESA sustainability interest group will explore net zero initiatives in clinical practice, prescribing, minimising low value care, ‘greening’ conferences, as well as research and advocacy. Some of the first objectives will be to coin the group’s terms of reference and create a position statement which will define the group’s purpose.
