Lauren R Alesi

Lauren Alesi is a 3rd year PhD candidate at the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, within the department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology at Monash University. She also completed her undergraduate studies at Monash University, receiving her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in 2019. Lauren has a passion for female reproductive biology, with a particular interest in fertility preservation for cancer patients. Her research focuses on characterising the negative side effects of cancer treatments on ovarian function and understanding the precise mechanisms underpinning this damage. She hopes to utilise this information to develop new fertility preservation strategies for young women with cancer.
