Margot Day
A/Prof Margot Day obtained her PhD from the University of Sydney and then undertook post-doctoral research at the University of Cambridge with Professor Martin Johnson and Professor Michael Berridge, supported by an NHMRC CJ Martin Fellowship. Her research focused on mechanisms regulating the fertilisation-induced oscillations in intracellular calcium. After returning to Australia, she established the Laboratory of Developmental Physiology at the University of Sydney in the School of Medical Sciences. Her lab’s research currently focuses on the molecular mechanisms by which factors, such as growth factors and amino acids, in the culture environment impact fertilisation and pre-implantation embryo development.
