Cottrell T Tamessar

Cottrell Tamessar is a PhD candidate establishing herself in the field of reproductive biology by characterising extracellular vesicles of the male reproductive tract. Her background is encapsulated through various areas of science including conservation and veterinary pharmaceutical research and development. Since beginning her PhD candidacy in the PRC for Reproductive Science at the University of Newcastle, she has been establishing herself in the field of reproductive science, having published a detailed review on the various roles of male reproductive tract extracellular vesicles in reproduction. Her research interests lie in identify the signalling mediators carried by male reproductive tract extracellular vesicles that influence male gamete function, determining the identity of signalling mediators carried by these extracellular vesicles that influence the female reproductive tract cellular microenvironment and investigating the impact of the environment on seminal fluid extracellular vesicle content and functional capacity.
