My research has always centred around understanding the molecular basis underlying disease. I have had the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines, however, all have been molecular biology focussed. Currently, I’m applying these diverse research skills to better understand the molecular changes responsible for ovarian cancer development in mice and humans and leveraging animal models of early ovarian cancer to identify novel biomarkers of early disease. The direction of my research is toward more comprehensive ‘-omics’ techniques, developing data analysis pipelines (Bash and R scripting) to wrangle large datasets and early ovarian cancer biomarker validation in non-invasive biospecimens from patients.
